At present, the team possesses more than 700 accessions of the bananas in their collection and has published two species names new to science, i.e. <em>Musa serpentina<\/em> in 2011 and M. nanensis in 2015. The gene expression and development of the banana flowers and inflorescences are now the focus of their team. Since 2021, she has also led another research team studying on archeobotany with national funding and international collaboration. Their research on phytoliths, charcoals and pollens from modern specimens and archaeological sediments will be the first establishment of this field of study in Thailand. In addition, the team has recently managed the signing of the MoU between the Mahidol University and the University of Pennsylvania Museum of Anthropology and Archeology (Penn Museum).
