Its primary objective is to promote knowledge, understanding, and conservation of the plant diversity in the Suvarnabhumi region, which is considered one of the world\u2019s significant biodiversity hotspots. The exhibition features works that reflect the natural beauty and intricate details of individual plant species, as well as their economic and cultural value in local communities.<\/div>\n\n<div style=\"margin-top: 0em; margin-bottom: 0em; text-indent: 3em; line-height: 2.0em; font-family: 'K2D', sans-serif; font-size: 1.0em; text-align: justify;\">\nOn this auspicious occasion, the Department of Plant Science would like to extend heartfelt congratulations to Mr. Thanaphat Kaewjantra, a first-year student in the Department of Plant Science, Faculty of Science, Mahidol University, for bringing pride and recognition to the university by receiving an Honorable Mention award in the youth category (ages 15\u201319). His award-winning piece is a botanical illustration of the Red Silk Cotton Tree (scientific name: Bombax ceiba L., family Bombacaceae), a local species of ecological and cultural significance.<\/div>\n\n<div style=\"margin-top: 0em; margin-bottom: 0em; text-indent: 3em; line-height: 2.0em; font-family: 'K2D', sans-serif; font-size: 1.0em; text-align: justify;\">\nMr. Thanaphat&#8217;s artwork was selected by a panel of distinguished judges and was honored with a royal certificate of recognition, presented by Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn during the official opening ceremony. This moment marks a pinnacle achievement in the student&#8217;s life and serves as an inspiration for young Thai artists to express their talents through botanical art.<\/div>\n\n<div style=\"margin-top: 0em; margin-bottom: 0em; text-indent: 3em; line-height: 2.0em; font-family: 'K2D', sans-serif; font-size: 1.0em; text-align: justify;\">\nThe Department of Plant Science, Faculty of Science, Mahidol University, proudly celebrates Mr. Thanaphat\u2019s accomplishment and sincerely hopes this will be the beginning of a successful professional journey.
