Start in Chiang Rai
Start in Chiang Rai, the northern most provinces and Chiang Mai, an ancient cultural city also known as "The Rose of the North" and one of the largest cities in the kingdom, visitors loves its easy home town feeling.
The participants will leave and return to Bangkok via Bangkok Suvannabhumi International Airport(BKK). Connecting time to check-in for international flight requires 3 hours. The itinerary covers 5 days & 4 nights, designed for plant-and-garden lovers.
After the arrival
After the arrival in Chiang Rai in the night of 4 December, the visit begins on 5 December, a national holiday to commemorate His Majesty the Late King’s Birthday. You will visit “Mae Fah Luang Garden” in the morning. Enjoy Doi Tung Royal Villa, its temperate flower garden. If time allows, two stops at the Black Museum and Wat Rong Khun or White Temple are in the plan. It takes 3-hour drive to Chiang Mai where we will spend the next 3 nights.
The 6 December
The 6 December is dedicated to explore Queen Sirikit Botanic Garden (QSBG), the first botanical garden of the country. Greenhouses and nurseries full of rare tropical plants will be at their most attractive time of the year. You will be greeted by expert botanists who will share with you their knowledge on beautiful plants. In the evening, you will be treated with traditional Lanna Khan Toke dinner and traditional folk dance.
On 7 December
On 7 December, a drive up to Doi Inthanon National Park passes several types of scenery. We will visit the Royal Agricultural Project, its nursery of highland ornamental plants and spend the night at their accommodations. This is a special privilege to our participants as the place is not usually opened to the public.
At the national park, you will have a chance to walk in the cloud forest when we reach the highest peak in Thailand (2,565 m. asl). Then hike along the cliff and catch an exceptional opportunity to see rare Inthanon goral and wild orchids. End the day with photography as we wait for the sunset between the twin Pagodas.
