**Students from the Department of Plant Science, Faculty of Science, Mahidol University**, enrolled in the course **SCPL361 Economic Botany**, had the opportunity to visit **Tropicana Oil Co., Ltd.**, a world-class producer of cosmetic products derived from coconut oil, at their factory located on **Phutthamonthon Sai 8 Road**. The purpose of this visit was to provide students with an understanding of the production process of cosmetic products made from coconut oil, a product known for its special properties and global popularity, particularly in the cosmetics and skincare industries. Coconut oil is an important economic plant in terms of industrial and agricultural development. During the visit, students gained insights into the entire production process, from raw material to final product, and the use of modern technologies in processing and developing high-quality products. During the factory visit, students attended a lecture by experts from Tropicana Oil Co., Ltd., who shared in-depth information about the production of coconut oil, quality control, and the various processes involved in manufacturing cosmetics from natural raw materials. This experience emphasized the significance of research and development in the cosmetic industry and the use of economic plants to create high-value products. This visit not only enhanced students’ theoretical knowledge in the course of **Economic Botany**, but also provided valuable hands-on experience in the industry, which will be beneficial for future studies and research.
