We are delighted to announce and congratulate Ms. Mallika Ekwiriyakul, a highly accomplished graduate from the Department of Plant Science, Faculty of Science, Mahidol University, for her outstanding achievement. Ms. Ekwiriyakul has won the prestigious “Silver Medal, Young Rising Stars of Science” award from the Science Society of Thailand under the Patronage of His Majesty the King. This award is a testament to the high quality and potential of research conducted at the undergraduate level. Ms. Ekwiriyakul earned the recognition for her undergraduate research presentation titled: “Evolution Relationships and Morphological Trait Evolution in Saprosma (Rubiaceae).”
The research focuses on investigating the evolutionary relationships and the changes in morphological traits within the genus Saprosma, a plant belonging to the Rubiaceae (Madder family). This work not only enhances the understanding of plant taxonomy and evolution but also reflects the immense dedication and commitment of the next generation of researchers. The Faculty of Science and the Department of Plant Science at Mahidol University take immense pride in Ms. Mallika Ekwiriyakul’s success, which highlights her exceptional academic and research capabilities.
