ผู้ช่วยศาสตราจารย์ ดร.ทยา เจนจิตติกุล (ภาควิชาพฤกษศาสตร์) ได้รับการอนุมัติแต่งตั้งจากสภามหาวิทยาลัยมหิดลให้ดำรงตำแหน่ง “รองศาสตราจารย์” สาขาวิชาพฤกษศาสตร์ ตั้งแต่วันที่ 8 กันยายน พ.ศ. 2566 ตามมติที่ประชุมสภามหาวิทยาลัยมหิดล ในการประชุมครั้งที่ 608 วันที่ 18 กันยายน พ.ศ. 2567 แหล่งที่มา
เนื่องในวาระดิถีครบรอบ 32 ปี ของการก่อตั้งภาควิชาพฤกษศาสตร์ คณะวิทยาศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยมหิดล ภาควิชา ฯ จึงถือเป็นโอกาสดีที่จะจัดงานคืนสู่เหย้าให้ศิษย์เก่าได้กลับมาเยี่ยมเยียนภาควิชาฯ อาจารย์ และน้องๆ ศิษย์ปัจจุบัน พบปะสนทนาสานความสัมพันธ์กันและกัน กอรปกับเป็นช่วงเวลาที่ภาควิชาฯ มีอาจารย์ที่เกษียณ 3 ท่าน คือ 1. รศ.พวงผกา อัมพันธ์จันทร์ 2. รศ.ทยา เจนจิตติกุล 3. ผศ.งามนิจ ชื่นบุญงาม จึงถือเป็นโอกาสดีที่ศิษย์ภาควิชาฯ จะได้ร่วมแสดงความกตัญญุตาแก่คณาจารย์เกษียณ และรับประทานอาหารร่วมกันในบรรยากาศชื่นมื่น
