On Friday, 24 April 2026, the Department of Plant Science and the Department of Genetics, Faculty of Science, Kasetsart University, in collaboration with the Department of Plant Science, Faculty of Science, Mahidol University, and the Department of Botany, Faculty of Science, Chulalongkorn University, jointly organized the “11th Thailand Undergraduate Research Forum on Plants and Genetics and the 5th Thailand Junior Research Forum on Plants and Genetics (TURFPaG11 & T-JuRFPaG5).” The conference was held at the Sumon Smutkupt Conference Hall, 45 Years Science Building, Faculty of Science, Kasetsart University. The event was filled with an atmosphere of learning, collaboration, and academic enthusiasm, bringing together high school students, undergraduate students, faculty members, and individuals interested in plant science and genetics from various institutions across Thailand. Participants from several leading universities warmly attended the event, including Kasetsart University, Mahidol University, and Chulalongkorn University.
The conference provided an important platform for high school and undergraduate students to present their research projects and academic work in the fields of plant science and genetics through both Oral Presentations and Poster Presentations. The presentations covered a wide range of topics, including botany, genetics, plant biotechnology, biodiversity, natural resource conservation, and the application of plant science knowledge for sustainable development. In addition, participants had valuable opportunities to exchange ideas, engage in discussions, and receive constructive feedback directly from faculty members and distinguished experts. These interactions helped foster scientific thinking, enhance research skills, and encourage the further development of knowledge toward future innovation. The event clearly reflected the potential, creativity, and strong determination of Thai youth in advancing research and academic development in plant science and genetics in a highly commendable manner.
The conference was organized with the important objective of fostering and enhancing the academic potential of high school and undergraduate students, equipping them with the knowledge, skills, and readiness to compete at international standards. It also aimed to provide a platform for the dissemination of research findings, the exchange of academic knowledge, and the strengthening of collaborative networks among schools and higher education institutions across Thailand. This event marked another significant step in promoting and advancing youth research in Thailand, helping to establish a strong foundation for the future development of plant science and genetics research in the country. Filled with inspiration, academic friendship, and a strong spirit of learning, TURFPaG11 & T-JuRFPaG5 concluded with remarkable success and served as an important platform for encouraging and supporting Thai youth in their journey toward becoming high-quality researchers at both national and international levels.
In addition, the Department of Plant Science, Faculty of Science, Mahidol University would like to extend its congratulations to 11 fourth-year students on receiving awards for their research presentations at the 11th Thailand Undergraduate Research Forum on Plants and Genetics. This achievement reflects the students’ dedication, perseverance, and academic potential in conducting research in the fields of botany and plant science, as well as their ability to effectively communicate scientific knowledge through both oral and poster presentations.
