ผศ.ดร. ทยา เจนจิตติกุล และ ดร. สาโรจน์ รุจิสรรค์สกุล ตีพิมพ์พืชชนิดใหม่ของโลก “#บัวหิน” Stephania kaweesakii Jenjitt. & Ruchis. ซึ่งพืชชนิดนี้เป็นที่รู้จักกันในตลาดมาระยะใหญ่ๆแล้ว ในชื่อ บัวหิน บัวผา หรือ Stephania sp.nova. และจากการเปรียบเทียบลักษณะกับชนิดใกล้เคียงทั้งของไทยและประเทศข้างเคียงสามารถยืนยันได้ว่า Stephania ชนิดนี้เป็นชนิดใหม่ของโลก การค้นพบครั้งนี้แสดงให้เห็นถึงความอุดมสมบูรณ์ของป่าภาคตะวันตกของไทยและพื้นที่เขาหินปูนทั่วประเทศที่มีความสำคัญต่อความหลากหลายทางชีวภาพ การอนุรักษ์พื้นป่าโดยเฉพาะพื้นที่เขาหินปูนจึงมีความสำคัญต่อความหลากหลายทางชีวภาพของไทยและของโลก สำหรับชื่อ “kaweesakii” นั้นตั้งให้เป็นเกียรติแก่ คุณกวีศักดิ์…
